Artwork 'Midden in de winter'

This lettering artwork features the powerful words by Albert Camus: ‘In the middle of winter, I discovered an invincible summer within me’. The work has been produced in a limited and numbered edition of just seven unique pieces. Maud Bekaert designed the letters by hand and burnt them into the wood. She then worked the charcoal layer with steel brushes to create texture. Each of the seven pieces has its own unique texture.
